Project description
This project incorporated and reinterpreted motifs from local culture to give contemporary aesthetics deeply rooted in the location to a merely functional building. Thus, the front contains a typical mashrabiya latticework, an Arabic design to control the lighting of the spaces, enclose and protect them from excessive heat, allowing a clear view of the outside from within. Other than its main function as a parking area with 150 spaces, this silo also integrates a commercial area and a cafeteria above.
A1V2’s distinguishing mark in this project lay in the development of a car park as a building that fully embodies its function rather than attempts to dissimulate it, imposing the plasticity of its characteristic front based on local references.
