Project description

This study is intended not only to provide a domestic residual water supply system to the population, but also to significantly promote the depollution of the Alcôa river. Depollution of this river is vital since most of the water collection for county consumption is located at the its spring. The system was divided into three parts: System 1 includes the villages of Carris, Baldio and Cabeço dos Carris; System 2 is dedicated to Casais de Charneca; System 3 includes the villages of Carvalhal de Turquel, Redondas, Lagoa das Talas, Chão do Galego, Casal Galego and Zambujeira. The spatial distribution of the villages allows for the separate execution of each system. In total, the systems add up to 5520 m of gravity collectors, 135 inspection chambers, 2664 m of eduction pipes and five lift stations. The systems were dimensioned for 1957 inhabitants and a stream of 458 m3/day.
