Project description
In this project, we created a network of local interfaces that structured areas essential to the location of reference infrastructures. We also materialised an area of reference utilities and facilities on a metropolitan and national level (sports city, multimedia centre, casino, marina, commercial zone). We identified vast open areas destined to protect against the risk of flooding, making use of their natural resources and giving them uses compatible to their function, ensuring environmental sustainability. We launched rehabilitation models in the areas of informal occupation, safeguarding the organized nature of the local customs.
As a reference project in environmental and social urban rehabilitation, A1V2’s approach made use of the pre-existing inactive infrastructures, providing better accessibility to the territory.
