A1V2 attended Expo CAMACOL 2016

 

A1V2 was in Medellín, Colombia, for the largest international exhibition dedicated to the construction industry of Latin America, Expo CAMACOL. This exhibition took place from the 24th to the 27th of August, 2016, and featured Portugal as the guest country. The Câmara do Comércio e Indústria Luso-Colombiana (Luso-Colombian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) was responsible for the Portuguese delegation attending this event, taking approximately thirty Portuguese entrepreneurs to 400 m2 of exhibition space. A1V2 had its own stand in the Innovation Pavilion of Portugal, situated in a privileged location, close to one of the main entrances of the exhibition. The opening ceremony, led by the President of CAMACOL, was attended by representatives of the Colombian Government, namely, the Vice-President, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, the Governor of Antioquia and the Prefect of Medellín. Also attending were the Portuguese Minister of Economy, Manuel Caldeira Cabral, the President of ProColombia and representatives from the 450 companies present in the exhibition. During the four days of the event, more than 58 500 people visited the exhibition, of which 1600 were foreign and hailed from 54 different countries. It is estimated that 250 million dollars in expected business were generated in this event and that its economic impact on the city, services, tourism, hotel industry and transportation totaled some 1560 million dollars. Covering the event were 195 journalists from 95 accredited media. The Câmara do Comércio e Indústria Luso-Colombiana, represented by its Executive President, Dr Rosário Marques, and her team, provided exemplary organisation and demonstrated full availability to promote Portugal and its businessmen, dignifying the entire committee and the image of the country abroad.
